Important things to know about Omne Clinic, Inc.

  1. The clinic is privately owned and operated and not part of a bigger hospital or medical health system. This has some advantages but also some disadvantages.  In general, you will find the atmosphere to be more "family type" and your records are much more effectively shielded from anyone else having access to them. A disadvantage is that we cannot operate on reduced fees and or sliding fee scales.
  2. Omne clinic Inc. is the only local provider of outpatient mental health and AODA services where the care is integrated with a 24-hour 365 day a year crisis response team. In addition to that, we have the ability to see you in our Urgent Care program if you need some immediate attention or crisis care to your situation.
  3. Omne Clinic Inc. does employ a number of Ph.D. psychologists who both practice and also provide supervision within the clinic. None of these clinicians, however, practices psychometrics, meaning that they generally do not engage in extensive psychological testing.
  4. The role of the psychiatrists in the care of our patients, be it a psychiatrist who may consult with us within our clinic or a clinician who is part of our local referral group in our system, is strictly medication management. The psychiatrists you will see and the nurse he or she will work with, seek to help you with your problems by prescribing medications.  Some patients may be disappointed if they find out that neither the psychiatrist nor the nurse is set up or has time to do one-on-one talking therapy.  In fact your time with these clinicians is going to be very brief, usually to either start or follow-up on medication.If you feel that your route to wellness must include a talk component, you should seek to have the services of a psychiatrist and probably a master's level psychotherapist.
  5. When you late cancel or no show for an appointment at Omne clinic, you cause us severe disruption for the clinical schedule, the therapists as well as other patients on waiting lists. We ask you to make every possible effort to cancel appointments at least 24 hour in advance. If you do not show without notifying us we do enforce consequences as spelled out in our no-show policies
